English Proficiency, IELTS
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. Australian Universities accept students only with English Proficiency.

Please note that IELTS is mandatory for obtaining a student visa.

For Bachelor and Master Programs minimum IELTS requirement is 6. It varies depending upon the universities and courses.

For Vocational or Tafe programs (Diploma or advanced diploma courses) minimum IELTS requirement is 5.5.

Part Time Job:

Students are allowed to do part time job for 20 hours per week during the semester and full time during the vacations. They can work on or off campus. 

Student after enrolling in the university can apply for a work permit in DIMIA with the enrolment letter from the university.

Living Expenses:

5.Living expenses for Australia should be changed "Living Expenses required for the student in Australia, per year = 18,000AUD$.
(1500 AUD$ per month x 12 months = 18,000 AUD$, it includes food, accommodation, Transport etc.)"
Documents required for applying to an Australian university:
Filled in application form
Academic Certificates
Passport copy
Work experience certificates
CV or Resume (for MBA Program)
IELTS certificate (If present)
Passport size photos

Steps to be followed to get into an Australian University:

Apply to the university and get the offer letter
Apply for the passport if you don’t have it.
Take up the IELTS exams. (If preparations are required, go for IELTS coaching classes.)
Apply for the student visa at the Australian High Commission (AHC), New Delhi.
Undertake medical check-up
Preliminary visa approval (PVA) from AHC.
Once the PVA is approved pay the first semester fees to the university and get the Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE) or receipt.
Original passport and CoE (Receipt) must be sent to the AHC for the final visa stamping.
Book your flight tickets
Arrangement must be made for the airport pick up and temporary accommodation.
Student must enroll in the international office of the university.
Please note that the duration for the visa processing is between 10-12 weeks. The student must lodge his student visa application 3 months before the commencement of course.

Job After Graduation:

Students who have successfully completed 2 years study in Australia can remain in Australia under New Skilled Graduate Temporary Visa for 18 months to gain additional skills they need.
